Services

Yuruwan is a Not-for-profit run by Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people, for the benefit of our people and communities.

Along with fund-raising and philanthropy, we engage in fee-for-service opportunities to support and continue our work, and so our people and communities can access projects for free or for a minimal cost.

All fee-for-service work is undertaken by Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people, and prioritises engaging local Traditional Owners and community groups where appropriate.

  • We can provide tailored consultation and advice to individuals and organisations within areas related to food growing, bush foods, community projects, community engagement, protocols and best practice, and organisational and strategic planning.

  • We can design and facilitate tailored workshops on a variety of topics (both practical and theoretical), within the space of urban Indigenous food growing, cultural protocols and perspectives, and other relevant areas.

  • We can deliver cultural capability training that is tailored specifically to working with Indigenous people and communities, developing community projects, the use of bush foods and growing and gardening respectfully on Aboriginal land.

  • We can help individuals and organisations research, develop and design appropriate programs within the area of cultural food growing.

  • We work with local communities—and co-design with Country, to bring cultural perspectives and ideas to the design of projects, gardens and other green spaces. We work with an extended team of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander landscape designers, artists, and story tellers to bring projects to life.
