How we work

Our model

As First Nations people, we prioritise opportunities and initiatives that will engage and benefit our communities.

We welcome funding and other support from partner organisations that are aligned with our ways of working, and that can help us to develop and facilitate projects that our people and communities can access for free, or at minimal cost.

To fund our community projects, we provide the following fee-for-service:

  • Consultation

  • Workshops

  • Cultural capability training

  • Research & development

  • Project design

Centring relationships with people and Country

We understand that meaningful, responsive, collaborative and reciprocal relationships provide the foundations for our collective well-being, capacity and growth. We prioritise respectful and reciprocal relationships—with both people and Country, that hold space for diverse and localised needs, generate collective knowledge, and are sustainable into the future.

We work, collaborate, and are informed by a broad community of First Nations people, across diverse and intersecting fields.

We work in ways that...

  • Create safe spaces for First Nations people

  • Respect cultural protocols

  • Are community driven

  • Are transparent and responsive

  • Allow adequate time and space for meaningful participation and co-design

  • Value the contribution of Elders and cultural knowledge holders

  • Are grounded, practical and engaging

  • Respect and care for people and Country

  • Are trauma informed

  • Prioritise our future generations
